The Lakeside Shack at the Cove

The pictures portray this as a lakefront house. In reality, it is an older double-wide trailer on a foundation with quite a bit of deferred maintenance. There are quite a few pictures of the updated kitchen area, however that is the only updated room. The rest appears to be original from the 1970’s. The deck needed to be cleaned and the grill appeared to have never been. The a/c couldn’t keep up and as is with trailers, the blower unit was in closet off the kitchen without a door so it was very loud in the living area when it ran. The blinds in each room were either damaged or partially missing. The property manager did send a cleaning person & hvac person out to clean the deck & a/c compressor unit. We worked on the grill to get it useable. The location is off the beaten path in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were ok.

Overall, the house was clean and served its purpose well for our stay. Everything inside was tidy and functional, which made it comfortable enough for what we needed. However, getting to and around the property was a bit challenging. The streets leading to the house are very tight with sharp corners, which made driving and maneuvering more difficult than expected—especially with a larger vehicle pulling a boat . There was also no clear information provided about trailer parking near the house, which would have been helpful to know ahead of time. In summary, the house itself was fine and met our basic needs, but better communication about parking and access would significantly improve the experience. Neighbors helped out the most.
